Course Player Update | March 2025
In March 2025, we updated the CFI course player to improve the course-watching experience and to address a common point of feedback from our learners.
Overview: What's New?
The lesson title, AI Chat, lesson actions such as taking notes, like & dislike buttons, and the control buttons to move to the next lesson now appear in a single header just above the lesson video or content. In addition, you can open the Course Outline from this location.
This ensures that all lesson controls are kept in one location while the video player is clutter-free.
Course Player Buttons
Below is a list of the key controls appearing within the course player.
Appearance | Purpose |
---|---|
Returns you directly to your learner dashboard. The CFI logo will also return you to the dashboard. | |
Opens the course outline in a sidebar on the left side of the screen. Use this panel to navigate between modules quickly or browse the lessons that make up the course. | |
Moves the course player to the next lesson. It remains in view at the top of the course player. Note: This button was previously at the bottom of the course player. Learners noted the frequently overlapped with and prevented access to the video playback buttons. |
|
If a lesson has previously been completed, you will see these two buttons in place of the “Complete and Continue” button. | |
Enables CFI’s in-course AI Chat in a sidebar alongside the course player. This feature is exclusive to Full-Immersion subscribers. | |
Closes the corresponding side panel and hides it from view. The side panel can be opened again at any time. | |
Enables the note-taking functionality within the course player. All your course notes can be found by clicking on My Learning Journey > Saved Content & Notes. | |
The like and dislike buttons allow you to give us feedback on lessons you enjoyed or would like to be improved. You’ll be asked to leave a comment if you dislike the lesson to help us improve it. |
Course Player Adaptability
The course player will adapt to the size of your screen.
Larger Screens
On larger devices, you will see all the lesson controls laid out side by side in the course player lesson header.
Smaller Screens
On smaller screens, the back-to-dashboard control may no longer be visible. However, the CFI logo will always take you back to your dashboard.
Smallest Screens
On the smallest screens, the notes and like & dislike buttons are grouped within a single drop-down menu on the left side. Clicking the drop-down in the lesson header reveals the notes and like & dislike buttons.
We hope you enjoy these updates! We're always looking for ways to improve your learning experience. Please email us at [email protected] with any feedback.
