How to Designate Your CFI Certification
Learners who have earned a CFI Certification may display their credentials as a designation. This article outlines the format that is permitted for displaying your designation.
CFI Certification Designations
- Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA®) or FMVA®
- Commercial Banking & Credit Analyst (CBCA®) or CBCA®
- Capital Markets & Securities Analyst (CMSA®) or CMSA®
- Business Intelligence & Data Analyst (BIDA®) or BIDA®
- Financial Planning & Wealth Management Professional (FPWMP™) Management or FPWMP®
- FinTech Industry Professional (FTIP™) or FTIP™
Designations may only be used after a certification has been earned and may only be used as outlined below:
- May never be used generically as a noun, verb, or possessive form.
- Must appear as adjectives to modify the subject, person, or certification.
- Certification holders are not permitted to use these designations as part of an email address, business name, or domain name.
Examples of Correct Formatting:

✅ John Doe, Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA®)
✅ John Doe, FTIP™
✅ John Doe is enrolled in the FPWMP® certification program.
