CFI’s Business Intelligence & Data Analyst (BIDA®) Certification Program will teach you the most important skills to kickstart or advance your data analysis career. Learn to use the most popular business intelligence tools and programming languages to explore, understand, and master data science.

Courses cover BI and data science, spanning data storage, collection, transformation, analysis, modeling, and visualization. You’ll be equipped with best practices in various scenarios, applying skills through real-world case studies and datasets.

First and foremost: Sign the CFI Honor Pledge - Program candidates must sign and abide by the CFI Honor Pledge to receive and maintain program certification. Failure to abide by the CFI Honor Pledge will result in the revocation of one's certificates.

  • Step 1: Prep Courses (optional). We recommend learners who may need to refresh the basics of BI and data prep before starting.
  • Step 2: Core Courses and Case Studies. Complete 15 core courses to build a strong business intelligence and data analysis foundation.
  • Step 3: Elective Courses. Choose electives to explore more complex, real-world scenarios to take your knowledge to the next level.
  • Step 4: Final Exam. 80% in each course assessment must be achieved to qualify for the final exam. Once complete, take the BI and data analysis final exam to earn your program certification. A 70% or higher score is required to pass the final exam.
  • Step 5: Get BIDA® Certified! After completing the program, you will receive a blockchain-verified digital certificate with your new credentials.

BIDA® Duration & Delivery Method

Lectures, study materials, and exams are all online and accessible worldwide, allowing the program to be completed anytime on a self-paced timeline. 

The estimated time needed to complete the BIDA® Certification program is 150-200 hours.

BIDA® Career Paths

The BIDA® certification teaches students how to draw descriptive and predictive insights from data. Students will learn how to apply business intelligence and quantitative analysis techniques to financial data through applied examples and case studies.

  • Data Analyst - collect and transform data, create data models and metrics that can be used to analyze performance

Is BIDA® the right program for me? Are the skills learned in the BIDA® program transferable?
  • Business Intelligence skills are highly transferable and relevant to any data-driven industry. Whether you're from the retail, travel, human resources, or finance industry, you'll be using the same skills & tools needed to be a world-class data analyst.
  • We highly recommend you check our Introduction to Business Intelligence course. In this course, you'll learn how the different roles in a BI team support a business and see how the core business intelligence tools can help you work with all kinds of data.

I took the course assessment more than once; what score will this record on my transcript?

  • We offer unlimited attempts on the course assessments. Your transcript will show a PASS or a FAIL for each test score.
Why is the total video time different than the number of course hours?
  • The hours included in the course description are the average study hours, including the time to watch lectures, download files, complete the exercises & assessments, etc.

Will CFI provide me with access to the applications required to complete the BIDA® Program?

  • No. Students must download the required applications independently before enrolling in the BIDA® course or taking the BIDA® final exam. Except for Microsoft Suite, most of the software required can be downloaded for free.

Can I complete the BIDA® program using a MAC computer?

  • Yes, you can. We recommend downloading Parallels to use PowerBI and PowerPivot on your MAC device. PowerBI is also available, but with limited functionality, online here. Mac Devices support all other applications required in the BIDA® program.
