CFI offers over 200 courses on a wide range of banking and finance topics. They're great when you need to learn new skills, brush up on a concept, or fit in some quick learning.

Each course is designed to help you learn a practical skill or understand a theoretical concept, with a strong focus on real-world application. Most of the courses you’ll encounter are practical, aimed at developing hands-on expertise in areas like financial modeling, valuation, corporate finance, and data skills.

Course Structure: Modules and Lessons
CFI courses are thoughtfully structured to make learning as flexible and engaging as possible. Each course is broken down into manageable modules, with each module typically taking between 10 to 30 minutes to complete. Within these modules, you'll find lessons that are usually two to five minutes long, allowing you to fit learning into even the busiest schedules.
Most of our lessons are video-based, where instructors guide you through concepts with clear, practical explanations. In addition to video lessons, some courses include reading materials that complement the learning process, providing deeper insights into specific topics.
To ensure you're not just learning passively, each module typically includes an interactive exercise. These exercises are designed to help you apply or test your knowledge in a hands-on way, reinforcing key concepts and preparing you for real-world application. Whether it's a quiz or a financial model to complete, these activities make sure you're actively engaged in your learning journey.
Qualified Course Assessments
At the end of each course, you’ll have the chance to take an assessment to test your knowledge and understanding of the material covered. This assessment serves as a final checkpoint to ensure you’ve grasped the key concepts and can apply them in real-world situations.
Once you meet the pass mark, you’ll earn a certificate of completion. And don’t worry—if you don’t pass on the first try, you’re welcome to retake the course assessment as many times as you need*. This flexibility allows you to fully master the material at your own pace, ensuring you're confident in your skills by the time you complete the course.
*Note: This is different to our certification exams, which can only be taken a limited number of times in a given time period.
Case Studies vs. Courses
Are case studies the same as courses?
Although case studies are presented in a similar format, they serve a slightly different purpose. Whilst courses focus on teaching new materials and skills, case studies give you the opportunity to apply and test your skills in real-world scenarios. Think of them as a way to put what you’ve learned into practice, helping you bridge the gap between theory and application.
