As part of our ongoing effort to keep CFI's course catalog current and learner-focused, we are retiring Effective Business Writing. This course will no longer be accessible after Friday, October 30, 2026.
Why we're making this change
We regularly review our catalog to ensure every course continues to deliver real value in a changing landscape. Business writing itself is evolving — professionals increasingly work alongside AI writing tools, drafting, editing, and directing AI-generated content rather than writing entirely from scratch. Much of this course's tactical, rules-based content, such as grammar mechanics and sentence-level editing, is now well covered by tools learners already use daily, which reduces the course's standalone value in its current form.
Rather than keep a course on the platform that no longer reflects how business writing works today, we've decided to retire it and revisit how CFI teaches this skill.

What this means for learners
If you'd like to take this course, you must complete it before October 30, 2026. After that date, it will be removed from the platform and no longer available.
This course is not being replaced, and its removal will not affect your overall program progress or completion requirements going forward.
